"Who Does She Think She Is?"
Seeking artists who identify as female from the Kansas City metro area to submit artwork for this group art exhibition that celebrates women and explores the unique experiences and challenges women artists in America face as they bring together family, careers, and artistic fulfillment.
The opening reception is March 15th and closing reception is April 19th.
WHAT TO SUBMIT:
ART IN WHICH THE PROCESS OR IMAGERY ANSWERS THE QUESTION: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Although this is a women’s exhibition, we are each radically different in background, race, ethnicity, religious creed, gender expression, and choice of artistic medium. As women, we all share the common challenge of remaining true to our creative existence as we are pulled in different directions to meet the demands of artistic fulfillment, relationships, motherhood, and economic survival.
➔ FRI, DECEMBER 28, 2018 – Email intent to be included in the exhibit. Please provide your Name, Address, Phone number, Email Address, Artistic Medium, and samples of your current work. If unable to upload link to images, email to Wolfe Brack, firstname.lastname@example.org. Artists will be notified by Fri, Jan. 11th of their acceptance into the exhibit.
➔ FRI, FEBRUARY 15, 2019 - Artist Bio (1 paragraph/500 characters) and high resolution photo for inclusion in the exhibit website. You may also submit a High Resolution JPEG image of the work you will have in the show. Please include: your name, dimensions, media, year and price (including 25% commission). ➔ THURS, MARCH 14 – SAT, MARCH 16, 2019; 12-3PM - Deliver artwork to InterUrban ArtHouse, 8001 Newton Street, OPKS 66204; labeled with your name, title, date, & price; ready to hang (please include any special hanging instructions). Sign and submit contracts.
➔ SAT, APRIL 20 – SAT, APRIL 27; 12-3PM - Pick up work
This show is open to all Kansas City regional artists. Artists from out of state/country are welcome to apply, but must cover all shipping costs of selected works.
Submission does not guarantee admission into the show.
Please submit up to 5 pieces/images and include title, medium, dimensions, and price, and if for sale.
If pieces are still in conceptual form, please include a description/example and 5 images of past work.
Please upload a sample of up to 2 the written works you wish to read, or
Please upload up to 3 video/audio files of you performing your piece(s)
Please include links to any media showcasing the music you’d like to perform
Please give a description of the programming you’d like to facilitate or participate in between the opening and closing receptions (artist discussion panels, film screenings, informational/resource fair, etc)
