FountainVerse Poetry Reading


Join Cleveland based small presses NightBallet and Crisis Chronicles as they join FountainVerse founders Jason Preu and Jeanette Powers for an incredible evening of poetry readings.

NightBallet Press and Crisis Chronicles Press, both out of Cleveland Ohio come to KC to celebrate National Poetry Month with InterUrban ArtHouse and FountainVerse.

Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs are both independent small press poetry publishers traveling to KC for a fantastic featured reading to share their own poems and set up a pop-up book store of some of America’s leading indie press poets.

These two icons of the small press scene will be joined by FountainVerse hosts Jason Preu and Jeanette Powers who will both be reading from new books! Powers presents “Gasconade” published by NightBallet Press. Preu presents “More Poems About Purple Wizards and other Neon-Bright Exceptionalisms” by EMP Press.

FountainVerse: KC Small Press Poetry Fest is just what the name describes, bringing together national and local indie presses all year long and hosting a 3 day festival the 2nd weekend in October and is sponsored by Charlotte Street Foundation, Francis Family Foundation, RA Long Foundation, Chameleon Press, Osage Arts Community, Schlafly Beer, and Prospero’s Bookstore.
