Garima Yadav gives a performance of Traditional Indian Kathak dance.
Kathak is one of the ten major forms of Indian classical dance. Kathak finds its roots in 12th century North Indian temple arts, where storytellers interpreted scripture—enacting characters, and telling stories with hand gestures, foot tapping, and music. Kathak evolved through the historical periods with intricate spins, footwork and hand gestures. The program is an attempt to understand the history of Kathak dance while presenting traditional pieces which have evolved over centuries.
