Please bring your camera and allow enough time to play with the techniques plus some portrait equipment.  In this workshop, we’ll explore the basics of using flash in portrait photography including live demonstrations and hands-on ‘playtime’

Topics to be covered include:

Ø Understanding Flash

o Sync Speed

o TTL and Manual Mode: a Place for Both

o Hard and Soft Light

Ø Portraits and Flash

o Using Your Camera’s Pop-up Flash

o Using On-camera Flash

o Using Off-camera Flash

Ø Why and How to Use Light Modifiers

Ø Common problems and fixes

o shadows behind subject

o harsh lighting

o focusing in low light

Ø Hands-on Playtime

Bring your camera and external flash (if you have one) for the hands-on playtime! It would be helpful for you to know how to change from TTL to Manual mode and how to access the Flash Compensation feature of your flashes. You can also have access to the guests Speedlights and Modifiers! 

This group is for photographers at all levels, both professional and enthusiasts, to collaborate and share photography industry information. Bring your questions and plan to take time to socialize too.
