Exhibition Reception | 5:30 pm

Join artists from our local communities and organizations to celebrate the opening of a new exhibit series at Johnson County Library. We'll be serving some light refreshments for this reception honoring artists and organizers from InterUrban ArtHouse and Kansas City Art Institute.

A Discussion with Local Art Makers and Organizers | 6:30 pm

The discussion kicks off Spring 2017 with a new theme: "The Many in One". We're exploring this idea: how multiplicity may be found in unity, and vice versa, and we're asking how artists, as makers and organizers, address this theme in their practices and works. Join this lively conversation to gain a better understanding of art practice and local art organizations' roles in the scene. Guest panelists include Nicole Emanuel and Angi Hejduk, InterUrban ArtHouse;, Courtney Perry, Arts Asylum; and Guide cover artist Just. We're asking them what they think is "the role" of an artist, and whether they think there can only be one. Moderated by Joseph Keehn, Johnson County Library, former curator, Salina Arts Center.
