Sculpting the Human Head

Instructor:  Glenn Lavezzi

Two Sessions:  Wed, August 21st and 28th

Level: Beginning to Intermediate

Cost: $175 (includes materials, armature, and firing)

Supplies/Tools: Clay tools, Bust Armatures, and 25lbs of clay will be provided during class for each student

Objective: Students will learn to make a proportionally correct human head.  The class will focus on the skull, facial features, and muscle structure of the human face and neck.  Students will gain an understanding of the difference between the female and male heads, as well as some of the defining features that make each individual face unique. Facial expression will also be discussed.

Once the classes are over the students can take their sculptures home to continue working on them or the Teacher will fire the piece after it has had time to dry and be hollowed out. (approx.. three weeks)
