She believes that incorporating a variety of philosophies in her teaching gives her students multiple tools to choose from when solving visual problems.
Lewis is sought out for her expertise in painting and drawing the figure but also instructs beginning through advanced students in still life, landscape, and all aspects of realistic drawing and painting. Most work in the studio is done in charcoal or oil paint though graphite, pen and ink, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel are also media of study.
